About
We started with one door and a broken press.
Studio Lintel began in 2012 when Odile Ferrant rented the ground floor of a closed print shop and drew a single house on the old press bed. The house was built. Then a friend needed a book, then a hotel needed rooms, and the studio grew one discipline at a time.
We stayed small on purpose. Everyone here draws, makes or shoots; nobody only manages. That is why you always talk to the person doing your work.

House rules
Three rules we do not break.
Rule 01
Answer the door
Whoever you write to replies, and the reply comes from the person who will do the work.
Rule 02
Make it near
Almost everything is made within a day’s drive, so we can visit the maker and you can too.
Rule 03
Show the workings
Drawings, test prints and failed prototypes go in the project file you receive at the end.

OF
Principal, architecture
Odile founded Studio Lintel after ten years drawing housing in Lisbon and Marseille. She still starts every project by sketching the front door.
MD
Director, interiors
Malik plans rooms from the inside out. He trained as a joiner and still draws every piece of joinery by hand.
SB
Photographer
Saskia shoots medium format and prints in the studio darkroom. Her books have been shown in Ghent, Lyon and Marseille.
JV
Film director
Jonas directs short films and title sequences. He cut his first film in a cinema projection booth and still likes a slow first shot.
AD
Graphic designer
Anouk draws typefaces and designs books. She keeps a drawer of found letters that anyone in the studio can borrow.
RC
Product designer
Rafael designs objects with the workshops that make them. He spends his first week on every project just watching.
